hard hearted land lords

What you may be about to read is absolutely shocking but let me also assure all of you that this story is 100 percent completely true.

You don't know Sally and well very few people do.

Sally is 25 years of age, completely single with 1 child from being raped and tragically Sally is totally blind and is in a wheel chair.

Now Sally doesn't let her obvious physical disabilities get her down, and up until recently, Sally was in a unit which she was privately renting.

The unit has whel chair access and her 6 year old son and outside care agencies help her out.

Now Sally's land lord has always been a little difficult but to be fair to this person, this person did at least make sure Sally wasn't living on the streets.

But that was up until last Friday.

The land lord suddenly decided that they had had enough of Sally and her child, and they went ahead and they changed all of the locks on the unit.

To make matters worse, when Sally went to the police for assistance late last Friday afternoon, her nearest police station was closed, because according
to the Victorian State Government, there were some budget cuts.

Now Sally can't drive of course, and as it was after 5 pm, there were no transport agencies apart from taxis to go to the next police station.

When Sally finally did get a taxi 2 hours later, she went to the next police station, to find it was also closed because there were not enough staff to
keep it open.

Now by this time, Sally was running out of money, the taxi driver was running out of patience, and this so and so dropped Sally off in the middle of nowhere.

What could Sally do then?

Well the only option was to ring 000 so she did.

Ok eventually, the police find her by tracking her mobile phone signal and they all go and try and sort out the land lord.

By Tuesday this week, Sally still had nowhere to go, the police had kept her and her 6 year old son in a local police lock up, until the courts finally
decided the land lord was in the wrong and Sally could at least get her things out of the unit.

As of this morniing, Friday morning, Sally is still housed in a police watch house, there isn't any emergency accommodation suitable for her, and even
if she won a discrimination case against this heartless land lord, the point is she would be unable to return to this accommodation.

Now the reason that I tell you all this particular story isn't to get sympathy and or pity for Sally, and it isn't so we can rightly condemn the land lord,
but this is the reason that I am telling all of you this story.

Tonight, I and most of us will have a roof over over our heads.

If there happens to be a lot of arrests made and the police need this room in this watch house, my question is what happens to Sally?

So tonight, whilst we're sitting down and having our dinner or having a few drinks with our family or friends and or watching tv, or perhapps we have gone
out to visit others, please, please, ask yourselves if you really do have a social conscience, and well, who knows, if you do, you might like to take a
few moments of your valuable time and think of Sally.

Wow that's really sad. Herbie's and my last landlord was not the nicest guy around, but he was nothing like that. I will pray for that woman and that she gets help. I wish I could do something to help her directly.
Take Care,
Dawnielle
